How does TM30 reporting work for a short stay at an Airbnb in Thailand?

Feb 23, 2025

I have a question about the reporting of the TM30. Been searching info about this in other post but i cant find something similar to my situation.

I will be coming into Thailand for the first time since i acquired my DTV visa last early this month but it will only be for 2 days. But will be back again in a month's time.

I will be staying at an Airbnb for the 2 nights and wondering how would the TM30 reporting work in this case?

Any help or advice is appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 reporting is generally the responsibility of the property owner. If you're staying at an Airbnb for just two nights, it's likely the host will take care of TM30 reporting within 24 hours as required by Thai law. However, some users suggest confirming with the Airbnb host beforehand to ensure compliance. For brief stays like this, the TM30 should not be a major concern, but for longer visits, it's crucial to ensure that the TM30 is filed properly.

Completely a non issue whether one is filed or not for the day or two.

I doubt the AirbNb will register yiu for the 2 days but if yiu are only staying that long and leaving there wil be no problem amd nobody is going to ask you about it. When you return for longer you need it done. If you are renting longer term put it as a requorment for the agent that it must be done. The legit ones will do it.

The property owner is responsible to file a TM30 within 24 hours of an alien arriving. You only need to worry about the TM 30 if you are going to immigration for an extension

The Airbnb should do your TM30. I always check with the Airbnb first that they do the TM30 before booking.
