So I have been in Thailand since 12th of June and my Visa runs out 10th of august (without extensions)
I have been in talks with some language schools here to start a language course as well as upgrade my tourist visa to the none immigrant E visa.
I have recently aquired a hotel for a Month (move in Saturday/tomorrow) and I believe I now need the TM30 form to kickstart my visa process with the language school.
Am I right in thinking as I have not stayed longer than a week at hotels since I arrived, I would not have received this TM30 form? It’s only now that I am staying in a Hotel/room for longer than a month I need this form? I just have not had or received a TM30 receipt since I got here in June

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the necessity of a TM30 form for their upcoming visa upgrade after previously staying in various hotels in Thailand. According to comments, the obligation to file a TM30 lies with the hotel or landlord, which should be done within 24 hours of a guest's arrival, and they can obtain proof through online filing. The user is advised to communicate with their hotel regarding this form, especially since they are now staying longer than a week.

chang rai has a very friendly immigration office. The staff will personally guide you and help with getting insurance and all the other bits needed for the visa. Don't trust agents and lawyers. Hope that helps
A hotel or landlord is legally obligated to file a TM30 for you within 24 hours of your arrival on their premises regardless of the length of stay you may be with them. Whether they actually have is unknown.
The TM30 system doesn’t give receipts. If you need proof because of the need for interaction with an immigration office you can take a screenshot of the filing (whether from a browser or the app) and that suffices as a receipt.
this is the form I have. I need the bottom bit to be signed by immigration before a school will take me here (spoke to a few schools here) so will get this signed with my hotel tomorrow and pass to Immigration
That is indeed a TM30 registration form, but most places do it online these days. As mentioned earlier you don’t get an actual receipt but a screenshot of the filing will suffice.
I will discuss this with my new hotel tomorrow to make sure this process gets kickstarted and I can have some evidence of my stay for interaction with immigration.
