In the process of applying for a METV with the London Embassy. I can see an employer's letter is required as a document alongside bank statements showing 5K over 6 months. I am leaving my job to travel and so won't be able to get the letter from an employer, would the alternative mean i am required to make a 'self statement' of my plans (i.e. travelling and X amounts of funds)? I have been trying to call them for the past 7h no luck, so i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this recently?
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a METV (multiple entry tourist visa) at the London Embassy and requires an employer's letter along with bank statements showing at least 5,000 over six months. Since they are leaving their job and cannot secure the letter, they inquire if a self-statement of their travel plans and funds would suffice. Several commenters suggest that providing an itinerary with proof of funds may work and recommend contacting the embassy through Facebook for better response instead of phone calls.
since covid it's an all online program, no showing up at the consulate, no turning in any paperwork, (it's all uploaded) and they send you an email that has a PDF file that is your visa so no visa sticker in your passport anymore either
