Just a question on multiple entry tourist visa for upto 60 days,if you have finished work (retired) how can you get a letter from your employer.i dont get it .If you only want to stay in thailand 5/6 months at a time

Ok. Hull don't mention about consulates not able to do postal applications in the UK any longer but the Liverpool consulate have posted it on there website

In the UK you either HAVE to apply online to the Embassy or apply in person to a consulate. Consulates don't do a postal service

Just call the consulate in hull. There is a friendly old bloke working there and will give you the information you need.

 there is also the need to provide a confirmed flight ticket and financial details in order to apply for a single entry Tourist visa now too.

It's the future looking at this Global online application.

 cheers Ron that's why I was asking ,it just seems they are asking alot .Before in 2015 before this mutii visa changed it was alot easier.Really can't see the point if you have a certain amount in the bank

 the ONLY way not to lose your money would be to travel to a consulate and apply.

Cardiff, Hull, Liverpool or Dublin. You could call and ask as some require an appointment to attend. You will have to travel though as they won't accept postal applications any longer.

 it can be any pension you are receiving not just a state pension. If you have a proven income, I guess that would be ok.Just be aware though, if you apply but don't qualify for a multiple but only a single entry, they will issue the single entry costing you £150 and there is NO refund.

There is also NO refund for a failed application.

 so basically if you retire at around 58 and state pension doesn't start at 67 ,your screwed then .If that's the case what a waste of time

You will need to provide one of these

If employed, a letter from employer confirming that you are employed by them.

or

If self-employed, copy of your HMRC SA100 or SA105 Self Assessment Tax Form for the latest tax year.

or

If retired (at any age) and receiving a State or Private Pension, confirmation of receiving such pension by providing a copy of the Pension Statement or similar which must bear the applicant’s name and address.

 yes i no james but they ask for letter from your employer(you cant give them that if you dont have one ) but can fullfill all the other requirements that they state for in the uk.Just seems abit daft

You apply for the 6 month multiple entry METV in your home country. With planning it allows you up to 9 months stay in Thailand. Otherwise, if you are age 50+, suggest you apply for the O-A Non immigrant Multi-entry visa which gives you one year stay in Thailand plus up to one added year stay with planning. The O-A is obtained from your home country.
