Hi all, thx for approving my join request, I’m happy to be part of the forum. Simple newbie question if I may ... can I apply for an METV without a letter from employer, I’m recently laid off with plenty of redundancy funds but no employer to provide a letter, TIA?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A new member inquired about applying for a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) without an employer's letter after recently being laid off. Responses indicated that the METV was currently unavailable due to prior travel restrictions and emphasized checking the Thai consulate's website for updated visa information and requirements. Alternatives like the Special Tourist Visa were suggested.

the 6 month METV was suspended along with the visa on arrival program back when the country shut down and I have not seen it available from ANY thai consulate.

Plus even if you got it you aren't gonna bounce out and back in easily any time soon.

About all that's available to give you stay close to the old METV would be the Special Tourist Visa.

GO to the website of the thai consulate in your country and see what the requirements are, and go from there

The METVs are not being sold now. Do you have a link where the METVs are sold?

they aren’t. See Todd response. I would give a lot of deep heavy thought before getting an STV if that’s the route you want to go.
