Has anyone been issued an METV visa in the UK recently without having an employment letter from a UK company. I would be able to get an employment letter but not from a UK company. My work situation is a bit complicated just now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses whether one can apply for a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) in the UK without having an employment letter from a UK company. Comments highlight varying experiences, with some users suggesting that an employment verification is necessary, particularly in self-employment cases, while others mention it may depend on how and where one applies for the visa. There are anecdotal opinions suggesting that not all applicants are asked for a UK employment letter, and alternatives like using a friend's company letter were humorously mentioned.
Depend how you apply? Send by post by urself or apply thou Thai consulate? It depend how lucky your.. last time my parent never been asked for one by myself(Thai British born) been asked to proved!
I don't think you have to be employed by a company in the country you're applying in, just that you need to have a passport from there or hold legal permanent residence.
