Need to renew non-o based on marriage. I am fairly certain about what I need except for the money situation and some proof of marriage.

I have more than one year of monthly deposits above what is required. I have been sending money from my account in USA using Wise/ transferwise.

Will bank statements be enough?

Also, I read that I need to get proof of marriage...? An update to my marriage certificate or something like that? I am not clear what I need there.

Thanks for your help

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew a non-O visa based on marriage in Thailand, you will need to provide several documents, including your marriage certificate and proof of sufficient finances. Bank statements showing a year's worth of monthly deposits can suffice, along with an updated bank letter. Additionally, it is recommended to verify the exact requirements with the immigration office prior to your application, as you may need to obtain an updated marriage certificate (Kor Ror 2) at your local Amphur. Ensure to follow the documentation checklist provided by immigration, including personal details and evidence of your relationship.

Heres whats I submitted in Jomtien last 2 years, Two copies of everything in this order. (I've saved it on MS word doc for reference)

1. TM7 with 2 recent photos

2. Passport – main page, non-o and entry page with TM6

3. Marriage Cert

4. ROR 2 (had copy of original from 2001, not updated)

5. Wife ID

6. House book in wife’s name

7. Bank statement and letter from SCB for last 2 months obtained day before (no question where money came from)

8. Copy of bank book showing last 2 plus months with updated withdrawal of 2K that morning

9. Map of house – hand drawn on A4

10. Eight photos printed 2 per A4 page of wife and myself (Quality wasn’t fantastic which was why I included 8 opposed to recommended 6 for Jomtien)

1. Front of house with house number clearly visible

2. Wide shot of front house

3. Sitting on bed

4. Standing in Kitchen

5. Sitting on Sofa living room

6. Wide shot of standing in living room

7. Close up of standing in living room

8. Sitting outside on porch

11. Telephone number of neighbor to act as witness on house visit (family member not accepted). Will require housebook and ID card of neighbour during visit.

12. Fee 1900 baht, passport stamped for 30 days and told come back then for final decision.

Best thing you can really do is BEFORE you need to get your new yearly extension is take your thai wife and head on over to the immigration office you use to get the hand out that lists the requirements.

Unless you were just married this year you'll probably need to get a new Kor Ror 2 (ค.ร.๒) at the local Amphur.

IF you're using monthly income method you need to have a print out from the bank of a year's worth of detail transactions in addition to the "regular' bank letter that states your name account and balance on the date you got the letter & you need to update your bank book on the date you apply for your extension

@Brett ******
as long as you got married IN thailand, it's just 20 baht to get a Kor Ror 2 updated at any Amphur (city hall), I'd go get one just to be safe ;)

Looks like this
