I am planning to apply for a 1 year non immigrant o marriage visa extension at the end of the year. For years, I have applied on the basis of having 400k in my account, but this year I plan to apply on the basis of salary.

What documents will I need to bring to prove this?

Appreciate your help #non_omarriagetothai

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a 1-year Non-Immigrant O marriage visa extension based on salary instead of bank balance, you'll generally need several key documents. These include your work permit, proof of salary (like payslips), and tax documentation (specifically, the last three months of income tax payments). You may also need a letter from your employer, which validates your salary and employment status. It's essential to consult your local immigration office for any additional or specific requirements relevant to your situation.

This is the information from the Bangkok Immigration site (and not that perfect).

You may need a letter from your employer. Some provinces ask for more company registration/accounting documents as well. Go to your local immigration office to get the latest requirements handout.

As you can see, you need help from your employer to use that method. You need to talk with them well in advance if they would help you.

If you are using income made in Thailand, it will be copies of work permit and the last 3 months of paying income tax and sso for you and for the Thai employees needed to get the work permit.

Your minimum Thai wages must be 40.000 thb a month.

Your recent post of August 12th may be of importance too...as you stated your current extension expires December 31st.

Are you still planning on leaving Thailand during the Christmas/New Year holidays?

3 months of earning 40,000 or more...?

Or 12 months?

Are you NOT planning to continue working after you submit your extension application ?

For how many consecutive months before you apply for the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai are you able to show proof of a salary of 40,000 Thai baht earned in your Thai employment ?

Have you asked your local Thai immigration office for their list of requirements for your one year extension of stay as Married to Thai ?

And in doing so, asked them how many consecutive months of the PROOF of earning 40,000 Thai baht monthly from your Thai employment is their requirement ?

Are you working for a Thai employer with a Thai work permit, paying Thai income taxes?

I have received a salary all year so far. I have not asked my local immigration office. I thought I would ask you guys! I am a business owner, I have a work permit through that company, and I pay thai income taxes.

Someone with more knowledge on that particular method of proof of funds for a marriage extension will have to weigh in but I remember it being fairly document heavy

Off the top of my head, your contract, work permit, proof of salary with that tax statement, documents from your employer, etc.

We're talking about you using a salary over 40K baht a month for working inside thailand right?
