Non O based on marriage: is it 400k 2 months seasoned before applying? Then how long does it need to be kept in the bank? Is there an amount that has to be kept in there for the year. Sorry I know its been asked hundreds of times. This is a renewal not a new one I m asking about. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
For renewing a Non-O visa based on marriage, you need to have 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account in your name for at least two months before the renewal application. This amount must be maintained during the standard one-month consideration period for the visa stamp. After that, there are no minimum balance requirements for the remaining months of the year.

Have 400,000 Thb in Thai bank account in your name...

TWO months before renewal application for one year extension....

And keep the 400,000 in the bank account during the usual

ONE month UNDER CONSIDERATION stamp.

No minimum balance requirement other months during year.

is the one month under consideration stamp always applied or can this part be sped up and it not take a month to obtain full marriage visa multi entry stamp from applying?

its applied as immigration makes a visitation to your home during that month...and application is under review.

thanks James. On a similar note.. after getting out of 2 weeks quarantine can I Immediately go to immigration and get this under consideration stamp? Or do I need to be in country for a set number of days before applying?

you need to have had 400,000 Thai baht in your Thai bank account for two months before you make application for your one year extension of stay based on Marriage to Thai.

You can go to immigration with your Thai wife and pick up their list of requirements for the Extension.

yeah that’s all covered its just the time limit I’m worried about as I’m offshore worker so I may manage to get another 4-5 weeks after doing my quarantine before going back to work. Just wasn’t sure if could get the Marriage visa sorted in this time. Cheers tho 👍

you can't apply for the year extension at most immigration offices until you have 30 days or less left on your current 90 day entry stamp from your Non-O visa. So that means you sit tight for 2 months from your arrival date before you apply. THEN when you apply you get the 30 day under consideration stamp before you go back and get the year extension, SO you're looking at close to three months from the date you arrived IF you do things as fast as you can once you're out of quarantine.
