What are the best accommodation booking options for a friend arriving in Bangkok for a visa process?
Hi all, Good morning! We're helping a friend processing his visa and thailand pass. He will be flying going to Bangkok end of this month. Where is the best place to book his accomodation? Hopefully doesnt break the bank. Thank you!

If he is landing on 31st he will have to do sandbox and then you will have to apply for his Thai pass and if so he must have a direct flight to Phuket he can not get a domestic flight from Bangkok it must be a sealed vtl flight ✈️

I am finishing up the process myself.
A) Book directly with the hotel. Get a contact and talk to them. They will need to provide a letter saying you have paid for transportation, tests, and accommodation. Originally I booked through agoda and it was a real pain to get the letter.
B) I had to submit my Thaipass twice. Maybe I goofed on the passport number, but when I checked status it said there was no record so I had to do it a second time. Once you've completed the process, check the status so you know they have record of it.

Wait few days, test and go its soon reintroduced, so dont spend unecessary money unless you have to go phket anyhow.

Is your friend fully vaccinated ?
To be honest you are better off waiting till monday or tuesday to see full details of the new test and go which will be starting Feb 1st. Hotels will then start offering packages to suit.

Legally they have to refund or give you credit it depends what was in the small print when you booked.If you book Bangkok possible he will be allowed out after 1st test, but that all depends. Last time this happened people were allowed out but have to stay in Bangkok for the 7 days

okay. I see. Thank you! We initially booked a hotel in Pattaya but unfortunately he cant travel to pattaya so we cancelled it but $200 wasnt refunded. We booked him now in bangkok for 7 days. Its frustrating and time consuming.Michael ********

no if you apply thai pass now you will only be able to apply for sandbox 7 days Phuket, Krabi or Phangnga.Or quarantine 7 days in Bangkok.
He could end up getting into Pattaya later than if he waited

you will have to wait till Monday or Tuesday to see exact details of the test and go.He maybe able to do day 1 and day 5 in a pattaya SHA plus hotel or maybe its day 1 in Bangkok and can do day 5 in Pattaya.
But they are only starting Feb 1st if you want come end of month its 7 days quarantine so i would wait
