Status: Pending Approval still as of today July 27th

Refundable flight and hotel booked for Aug 5th. 

Any advice? I emailed today for an update. Will going to the embassy help?

Today the embassy is closed due to a national holiday. Once they receive the required docs the approval clock is reset to 0. 15-30 business days it can take in NYC to get updated, and approval given in the order of applications received. They do not accept walk-ins. Try emailing, contact them via this site.

Reach out politely through Facebook, and ask if they need any additional information. You will reach a real person. I applied cooking / NYC, and they approved about 3 days after my FB message. Total processing time about 15 days in early June.
