Is TM30 reporting sufficient for 90-day reporting requirements for a Non-O visa in Thailand?

Good morning. I’m currently doing my second extension for Non O visa and a thought occurred to me in regards to 90 reporting. I’m never here for 90 consecutive days. As long as I’m doing TM30 on return I have no need to do reporting? The TM30 is essentially the reporting.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster questions whether filing a TM30 upon return to Thailand covers the 90-day reporting requirement for their Non-O visa. Commenters clarify that TM30 reporting is separate from the 90-day report. The TM30 relates to the address where one stays in Thailand, while the 90-day report is mandated for foreign residents who stay in Thailand for an extended period, specifically over 90 consecutive days. Therefore, if one is in Thailand for longer than 90 days, they must file a 90-day report on their 90th day.

The immigration officer in Buriram, told me that IF I leave the country, I need to register the TM30 on arrival back. I'm aware it's office specific. Just thought I'd mention it. 🤔

It's what Buriram immigration told me when I applied for a year extension and a re-entry permit.

TM30 has nothing to do with your 90-day reporting and is NOT "essentially the reporting".

TM30 is the report about where you stay in Thailand and nothing else. The 90-day report is about you staying in Thailand for consecutive 90 days with the address where you are staying. 90 days reporting checks your address against the TM30 record.

You don't have to do a 90-day report if you only are staying for less than 90 days. But when you are in Thailand longer than that, you have to do a 90-day report officially on the 90th day from the entry date (as day 1).
