Good afternoon all. I would appreciate some help with something I am not sure about. In a few weeks I must apply for my new marriage visa extension This will be the first time I renewed it. My current visa expires on April 28.

After a few years my wife and I finally have a chance to take a much needed vacation. I am wondering if I submit everything at the local immigration office (Nakhon Phanom) on the April 18, will it be possible for us to travel for 35 days before returning. I just got lucky and found the resort where we want for a very good deal, so I want to try to reserve it quickly.

Thanks in advance for any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a marriage visa extension with a current expiration date of April 28 and traveling for 35 days starting April 18. Responses suggest that after the extension application, a 30-day "under consideration" stamp will be issued, and that users often have to be present for a home visit during this period. It's recommended to consult directly with the immigration officer for clarification and possible accommodations.

Speak to your immigration officer. Explain the circumstances to see if they can accommodate your request. Some are on a power trip but most are pretty reasonable. Get your wife to do the talking.

When you apply for your year extension they will give you a 30 day under consideration stamp and you go back ON that day to get the year extension inked in.

Also most offices do home visits now for marriage extensions so you might have to be home during that 30 day under consideration for the home visit.

You can apply when you have 30 days or less left on the current extension so go apply and when you do ask them. I mean all they can say is NO you have to be here for the home visit and you have to come on the exact date the under consideration stamp runs out
