Hello guys,

How Long does immigration take to process the 1 year visa extension base on marriage.

I submitted all the forms & they gave me 30 days consideration stamps.

They informed me that they will be coming to my rent house for interview and prepare 3 witnesses...

Usually before they come will they inform you via phone or come with surprise? As I stay at village. Neighbours usually go farms in the morning till evening..

& how Long does it take to know the result?

Wife need to be around when immigration come? As my wife will be in school teaching student.

Thank you guys!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for a 1-year extension based on marriage typically involves an initial 30-day period during which immigration considers the application. Expect an immigration home visit for verification, which is usually arranged in advance. The wife's presence during the home visit is likely required unless otherwise informed. After the home visit, the final decision on the visa extension is typically made within the original 30-day period.

It's not a wait for the results, how long does it take sort of thing

It works like this,

you apply for the year extension

you get the 30 day under consideration stamp,

you get the in home visit

then you go back on the date that 30 day stamp expires and they ink into your passport the other 11 months of the extension.

you were applying for a 90 day in country Non-Immigrant Type O VISA, that got you a 90 day stamp and you will then go back and apply for the year extension

What
@Canice *****
was doing was applying for the year extension based on marriage (which is why they got the 30 day "under consideration" stamp)

Two totally different things entirely ;)

. Perhaps why. Bkk process 100s a day so probably dont have time and facilities to check all. Maybe I'm lucky.

Regarding result, if you weren't going to get it, they would tell you on application, unless something drastic happens when they visit your home. Just collect it in 30 days. Collection date will be stamped in your passport.

They came to our place last week , they called first and we were in hua hin so we arranged a date and time . Two officers came they took pictures of us together .

1 picture with the officer

1 family picture with the marriage certificate.

We didn’t need witnesses but my mother in law was with us anyway.

I would guess yes your wife needs to be around

Last week I only needed 2 witnesses with their ID & house book. This was in Pathumthani province, obviously varies province to province.

In four years I have never been visited. The same immigration lady has processed us for the last three years, and told my wife, as she likes us, and gossips with my wife, that they have never checked on us because she knows we are really married. When my wife asked, she said the only time they visit is if they think there is any chance that they are not living together like a husband and wife would. Basically if they visit and don't see evidence of two people living there, they get suspicious and could start asking neighbors what they see.
