TLDR : Answer Summary
The duration of the "under consideration" stamp for visa extensions does not have a strict standard and can vary based on individual circumstances and location. While some reports indicate a common duration of 14 days, others have experienced longer durations, such as one month or even up to 8 weeks. It is essential to confirm with the local immigration office, as the rules may differ, especially between different regions in Thailand.

I go my under consideration stamp in Bangkok on August 11 and needed to come back 8 September - 3 week wait. Might had been as I was one of the first and it was early

It seems there is no hard fast rule on how long these "under consideration" stamps are being given for with the 30 day embassy request extensions. Bangkok seems to be sticking to 14 days BUT down on Koh Phangan they are giving the U/C stamps which are valid until the 25th of Oct :O

that's just a day short of the 30 day extension you'd get (which is good until the 26th) so you have to go back to the immigration office and get the extension stamp that would be good for just one more day

I wouldn't miss it I'd cancel my trip

My experience to answer your questions. Under consideration stamps can differ in length. A marriage extension usually gets a one month consideration. I asked one year what if I go home and can’t make it back by that date? Immigration said that I would have to reapply for my one year extension if I couldn’t make it.

More recently I applied for a Non-O (from amnesty) on July 31st. I was given a consideration stamp until October 23rd, which is almost 8 weeks. So, there you have it.

You keep your passport

Thai Immigration places a stamp in it which says UNDER CONSIDERATION...and the date you are return to Thai Immigration.

ask your immigration office.

The Under Consideration stamp needs to be Closed Out by the immigration office which placed the stamp into your passport.

Do not forget to go back and close it out.
