TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers from the UK to Thailand cannot obtain a Visa on Arrival but can receive a 30-day visa exemption upon arrival. To enter, it's advised to have a return flight ticket, accommodation confirmation, travel insurance, and some cash (20,000 THB or approximately Β£550). The Visa on Arrival option is only applicable to specific nationalities, whereas UK travelers benefit from the visa exemption.
Then it is easy. You get a 30 day stamp without any further formalities which you can extend in the country by another 30 days. βvisa on arrivalβ is for certain nationalities, like India.
No, but you can get a free 30 days Visa Exempt Entry, official unlimited by air and limited to twice when using a land border. Much better than the 15 day Visa on Arrival that some countries have to buy at airports.
going by the nature of his question, i assumed he has been to thailand in the past. Therefore it doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand what hes actually asking. Majority of people on here love to belittle people. The first answer given was no help to anyone.
Please explain that he has to follow the signs to Immigration in stead of Visa On Arrival Office, terminology does not matter but waiting in line twice does. Specially if not needed when correct advice was given.
