Hi and thanks for the previous replies. But I think my query was misunderstood. I am NOT looking to apply for a Tourist Visa, but enter Thailand under the 30 day visa exemption scheme which I understand applies to UK Nationals such as me. My question remains, can I simply enter Thailand on the visa exemption scheme and stay for 30 days, then re-enter Thailand to gain a further 30 days. Also , if this is possible, what are the requirements. Would I still require a COE and medical insurance? I am interested in travelling after the 1st November when quarantine for UK Nationals is no longer required.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK National can enter Thailand under the 30-day visa exemption scheme and potentially re-enter for an additional 30 days. There are important requirements such as having a passport with at least 6 months of validity and possibly showing 20,000 THB upon entry. However, it is advised that the re-entry may need to be by air given the new entry regulations announced for November 1, when quarantine for UK Nationals is planned to be lifted. A Certificate of Entry (COE) will still be required before travelling, although further details are still to be confirmed.

Since this post was radically derailed to a "TM30" post. I'm shutting comments. Thank you.

As per the November 1st entry that was announced, I believe people must arrive by air to qualify. So, the re-entry you refer to may need to be by air.

Only air qualifies because the land based borders are closed for now.

I decided to accept your question.

Here's how the 30 day visa exemption work:

1. You'll apply online for a Certificate of Entry (which is outside of the scope of the group, and I'll delete any comments that discuss this).

2. On entry, you'll be granted 30 days.

3. You can get ONE 30 day extension of stay based on tourism at the local immigration office for 1,900 THB.

4. At the end of the 60 days, you will have to leave Thailand.

In theory, you can use the 30 day visa exempt unlimited times, where "unlimited" is until the immigration officer on duty believes you're abusing the system. In that case, they will deny entry and send you home.

>, if this is possible, what are the requirements.

The requirements for a visa exempt is a passport, with at least 6 months validity. You *MAY* be asked to show 20K THB, in cash, in convertible equivalent currency (i.e. USD, Euros, British Pounds, etc), on entry.

>Would I still require a COE and medical insurance? I am interested in travelling after the 1st November when quarantine for UK Nationals is no longer required.

This "November 1 no quarantine" is a plan, and there has been no formal announcement about how the plan will be implemented.

Can the extension be done at any immigration office in Thailand? And how close to the 30 days does it have to be done?

The TM30 can only be submitted no later then 1 business day after you arrive at a property. It can not be submitted before you arrive. AND, to sign up for the TM30 system, you need the housebook, which the property owner would be familiar with.

The 30 day extension of stay based on tourism can only be acquired at the immigration office where the TM30 is filed (the TM30 is submitted automatically by the hotel you're staying).

To get this extension of stay, you will require

1. Your passport and a copy of:

a. The data “picture” page.

b. The most recent visa (if applicable).

c. The most recent entry stamp or extension of stay (if applicable).

d. The departure card (“TM 6”) that should be stapled in the passport.

2. The extension of stay application form (“TM 7”).

3. 2x passport sized (4cm by 6cm) photos.

4. 1,900 THB processing fee.

@Benjamin *****
Thanks. So if I move on from my initial hotel to a private house in the first 30 days they have to submit a TM30.

@Ashley ********
Yes, the property owner must submit a TM30 no later then one business day after you arrive.

@Benjamin *****
Thanks. That must be done in person, I assume.
Benjamin ******
@Ashley ********
No, the TM30 does not need to be done in person. The property owner can use one of the following three applications

Online

Apple:

Android

I believe the Android option is working best now.

Have the property owner fill out the details, and print out one of the two images below (depending if it is sent via the app, or online)

Fingers crossed for the android one, the extranet doesn't seem to be working on any of my browsers.
