I had the special tourist visa last year, which I could extend twice. Is that finished now? What s the current deal with tourist visas? (UK) Guessing border runs are still off the cards. Any info most appreciated thanks 🙏

Answer summary

The special tourist visa was still available last year and could be extended twice. Currently, you must enter Thailand by July 3, 2022, to qualify for both extensions. Additionally, as of June 1, 2022, border crossings have been relaxed, allowing for more flexibility with tourist visas.

Still available. You must enter before July 3, or you won't get both extensions

ah ok thanks! Any news on what they might replace it with? I don’t think I’ll get back until Aug / September? Cheers

they'll probably either extend the program for another year or just end it and not replace with anything. It was setup because it was difficult and expensive to do a visa run when there were a lot of travel and entry restrictions but that's over now.

sweet thanks. Do you think visa runs will resume? I had a really smooth experience with my SETV getting it extended within 10 minutes in Krabi while many in CM moaned about it being difficult I recall
