Hi All,

Im really sorry to ask what might be very basic questions but last time i applied for a tourist visa was years back when it was a simple form and send in your passport to the embassy!

I live in Thailand but currently in UK and need to get a tourist visa to come back and then change to a retirement visa. I had a Thai Elite previous

I am trying to apply for a 3month tourist visa using evisa service online and its asking me to up load a huge amount of info for a tourist visa?

1. I cant upload a return ticket as i have already done one leg BKK-LON, will just the return leg be ok?

1. Do i need to provide all of this info?

5 . Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. Accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand

6 . Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter

7 . Confirmation of legal residence in a country in which you are applying for the visa. (In case that you are not a national of the country in which you are applying for the visa.)

8 . A confirmation letter from employer, School, Self-assessment, Pension statement

9 . Identity of the person inviting you to stay e.g. Thai ID card, Passport

10 . Applicant is required to upload his/her passport pages which contain all travel records for the past 12 months (1 year) since the last international trip.

11 . Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency.

this seems an insane amount of info to send in just for a 3 month tourist visa?

please can someone advise do i have to get all of this?

thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the extensive documentation required for a 3-month tourist visa application to Thailand from the UK. They express concern over the need to provide various proofs such as accommodation details, financial evidence, and past passport travel records, questioning whether all requested information is necessary. Responses suggest that while the requirements may seem excessive, providing accurately the requested documents (including proof of residence and identity) is critical for visa approval, and some offer alternative advice on obtaining a visa.

This is not brain science or rocket surgery people AND it's not a race either, take your time, get it right, READ the FAQ's and/or the User Manual.

Good Luck to the O/P (y)

Hi Darren, I completed this a couple of months ago and agree it seems OTT. Q9 was the one I really got stuck on as it only allows a photo ID. In the end I uploaded my passport picture again (my logic being I invited myself) and it was approved within a day. The other stuff is a pain, but you should be able to provide.

5 make a fake hotel booking for a day

7 upload your UK passport data page again or your drivers license

answer

8 NO, you're applying for a tourist visa and you can't work legally in the country.

Alternatively, arrive here on the free 30 day visa exemption and apply to change to a Non-o retirement from that. Remember to submit your Non-o application while you still have more than 15 days on your stamp.

Regarding needing a 'flight out of Thailand' book a cheap refundable flight to a neighbouring country and then obtain a refund, once you are here.

@Robert ******
will that get me flagged by Immigration having multiple COVID extension?

@Darren *******
Don't worry, all those extensions and the rest of you history of being and living in Thailand are all in the database. You tell nothing new and hiding by uploading a blanco page does not work
