Is it legal to sign a one-year lease while on a 60-day visa in Thailand for a DTV application?

Last month, I rented a house as a tourist on a one year lease because it was close to the hospital which i get treatment from. next month, I'm going to apply for a DTV soft power category. I know that I don't have to submit my house lease contract with other application papers, but I want to show the embassy that I really will get treatment from the hospital and i have enough funds for DTV (i just want to make sure that i get dtv. I'm hearing a lot of rejections lately). So I thought, maybe showing them the lease papers may make things easier for me to get a visa. My question is, is it illegal to sign a one year lease contract while holding a 60-day visa on arrival stamp in Thailand? if I submit these papers to the Embassy for DTV application, will I get rejected? TLDR : Answer Summary
The question concerns the legality of signing a one-year lease while on a 60-day visa in Thailand and whether submitting this lease with a DTV visa application could lead to rejection. Responses indicate that signing a lease is not illegal on a short-term visa and it's common practice. However, while the lease may not be necessary, applicants should prioritize providing required documents like a medical certificate from their treatment provider to strengthen their DTV visa application.

Nah, I have my condo signed until next year June and I just got DTV this week. I didn't show or mention any documents about that, I put my home country address while applied

Since I have applied in Consulate Malaysia, I only provided hotel booking from agoda. It is not essential, I think. I was asked by Visa officer that why I need DTV instead of non immigrant O visa (Medical Treatment)?

That's a point to explain reasonably.

You need medical certificate from hospital headed and stateing treatment and official stamp. That's what they asked from me appointment cards no good.

You need proof of address in home country - you are not supposed to be applying from Thailand.

I would ONLY offer up what are the required documents on the visa application.

In your case you will need a letter from hospital with future medical appointments and treatments.

Just make sure you get a supporting letter from your doctor or hospital attesting to or confirming that you are undergoing long term treatment so that you can present with your DTV application

Not illegal, common to sign a lease on a short term visa while waiting for the long term visa to come thru.
