Can I lease land in Thailand on a tourist visa?

Hi everyone!

Looking for some guidance for my upcoming trip in January please ๐Ÿ™

I am going to be leasing land or property when I return to the kingdom, either through a Thai person I know or leaseholder. It is my understanding that I am able to do this under a tourist visa? Does anyone have experience with what visa is needed?

I'm struggling to find the exact information that allows this as it's a long expensive flight trip back home to Canada if I am not prepared beforehand. Any advice or insights for this visa situation are welcome, kindly please share ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you in advance!!

Land leasing or renting a property is not dependent on your entry method. You could enter into a 30 year land lease on a tourist visa with no issues.

one last question, can I apply for the tourist visa abroad or better before hand? I am considering the multiple entry tourist visa..

Thanks again!

you can get a single entry tourist visa from many different embassies/consulates. Some do restrict to nationals of that country, but many including those in SE Asia will let nationals of most apply. Multiple entry usually is only your country of origin or legal residence. Pre covid I think one consulate in Australia would do them for other nationalities but Iโ€™ve not seen any info on whether they do so now.
