TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation confirms that a TM30 is still required for visa extensions at Jomtien immigration in Pattaya. It is mentioned that even if a hotel does not provide a TM30 registration, one can submit a personal TM30 registration by using a written confirmation letter from the hotel as proof of stay. Recommendations are made for using visa agents in the area to simplify the extension process.

Visa agents in Pattaya, will get you a 30 day tourism extension, they will do everything for you, save yourself a headache, just give them ฿4000 and your passport, everything included.

I did read it, they state they are unable to obtain a TM30, it's cheaper and less hassle to just get an agent to do it for them in these circumstances, like I said at a total cost of ฿4000 including the immigration fee, so you suggest again!! to pay the ฿1600 fine + ฿1900 immigration extension fee + ฿360/$10 (good luck finding a hotel in Pattaya for ฿360/$10) let's assume they wouldn't stay in a ฿360/$10 room. You keep saying he, it seems to be a woman that did the post, not that it matters, but anyway, Your advice is not good and not tailored to this person's situation.
That's why just rent a room for 10USD a night and get the tm30 online.
Print it out by the office at immigration

Take control of your life, why pay more than double, for something you easy can do yourself, done it once, and you can do it at no time, instrad of keep paying others to do it.
easy to do it yourself?? How many 30 day extensions have you done?? And most importantly, at which immigration offices?? Some offices in the tourist destinations make it a very difficult and a frustratingly long process, even tho you have all your documents in order, in this instance, I suggested using an agent because jomtien is one of them offices, that will have you there for hours and hours doing it yourself, and also there will possibly be a fine to pay at jomtien, if the filing of a TM30 is late.
I did it myself yesterday before. Jomtien. It is so easy. You can pay 200b and they fill out the form for you. Make copies, foto everything. Outside immigration. All you need is TM30 form.
you are missing the point!! they don't have a TM30, I'm aware it's not difficult to get the documents together "if you have got everything" I have done it myself a few times, at the jomtien office, every time I've been there, they just send you from one desk to another, and it's packed out with people, telling you to sit down and wait, it's always takes hours and hours!! it's more frustrating and very time consuming than anything else, in this particular post the person cannot get a TM30 from there landlord, jomtien immigration I'm told now issue fines for late filing, in this instance I suggested using an agent at cost of ฿4000 all done, because if they try and do it themselves, they will likely get a fine of ฿1600 + ฿1900 immigration fee for the extension, they even mentioned staying one night in a hotel to get a TM30 that is further expense.
I did it recently myself!! what do you not understand?? So your solution is to check in a hotel at around ฿700 is about the cheapest at the moment in Pattaya + ฿1600 late filing fine, + ฿1900 immigration extension fee, and hours and hours sat in the immigration office waiting, you obviously don't understand what I have tried to explain more than once, about this person's situation, or my solution is just pay an agent ฿2100 + ฿1900 immigration fee, your solution total cost= ฿4200, my solution and 5 mins in immigration ฿4000, do the maths and the time involved 🤷🙆🤦
the first time I did an extension in the jomtien immigration, it took 4+ hours, because of all the messing around, and plus I didn't know they close for an hour for dinner time 12:00 till 13:00 😅
They give you appointment now. It was not more than 1.5 hours.
1.5 hours for 4000b I will even work in my own country for that money

You’ll need a TM.30 for extension at Jomtien immigration. My hotel didn’t give me a screenshot of their TM.30 registration, just a written letter confirming my stay and I did the TM.30 myself and just attached their letter. The responsibility for a TM.30 is as we know the landlord and I think the immigrations are aware of not everyone fulfils their responsibility.
it is not your responsibility to report TM30 if you stay in accommodation with landlord, he will be fined for not filing on your behalf. If they refuse report then at immigration
As said, the issue is when the landlord doesn’t fulfill his responsibility. And I was just referring to my own experience at hotels and TM.30 for extension.
there are many cases where the landlord wouldn't do a TM30, and also will not go to the immigration to sort it out, so then you're on your own, the tenant then goes to the immigration office to explain, sometimes the immigration officer will ring the landlord, that's if they answer the phone, and tell in future they need to do a TM30, the officer then explained that unless YOU!! pay the late filing fine, you won't be getting the extension that you need, that is the reality of it, so you can't just say it's the landlord's problem like you're saying, because they put it back on you.
if you go to jomtien immigration, to do a 30 day tourist extension, and you don't have a current TM30 in the system, some people have reported getting a fine, ฿1600 fine + ฿1900 immigration extension fee, and hours and hours waiting, that's why I've suggested just pay an agent ฿4000 everything included to do it for you.
Can you please explain how you can do the TM30 yourself if the Landlord of your house doesn‘t do it every time you come back after a holiday in another province? Thx
I’m not so familiar with this as I’ve just stayed in hotels myself, but I’ve read that some people have contacted the immigration and the immigration again has told the landlord that they are responsible for the TM.30’s. Latasha I stayed several nights at the hotel, but I know people have just booked in for shorter time to fix the formal TM.30 registration.
I've seen people post that you can do the TM30 yourself online, but I think you need documents from your landlord such as Thai ID, and chanote or house book, I'll send you the link from another post (just check it looks legit, I've never used it myself, it's just what someone else posted)
you can't do the TM 30 yourself , legally otherwise the immigration system would be completely compromised. Its the duty of the landlord or hotel , if they fail and grt reported its 4000 baht fine. If they stoll refuse go to the police they will make them do it differently
I've seen people post on here, that have got difficult landlords that won't do a TM30, they have said they do it themselves, but you do need your landlord's cooperation by supplying the relevance documents.
The hotels do routinely online registration of the TM.30 immediately when check in. Some hotels give you a screenshot of their registration , some just a confirming letter you can attach the TM.30 and TM.7 yourself at the immigration as explained.
