I entered with a 60 day tourist visa (US national). Did an extension in late September just before the amnesty ended. Went back to close the loop in mid October and was given one extra month. The extension now ends on November 30.
I'm going for another extension but I've heard that TM30 is now required? I've always stayed at a friend's (owner's) place and never had to have TM30 done for any extension before so there is no signed agreement or anything.
Is the method here still valid even if the TM30 has never been filed before?

What are my options?
Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on extending their tourist visa in Thailand and inquiring about the need for TM30 registration, especially since they have always stayed at a friend's place without it being filed before. The comments corroborate the requirement of TM30 for visa extension, advising that the landlord can file it online or suggesting alternative options such as booking a hostel that offers same-day TM30 registration.
Yes. I just extended this morning and was asked to show my proof of TM30 registration. There are stories that some were not asked, but if you are unlucky to get asked, you will have wasted a trip as they won't proceed without it.
