Hello. If I am in Thailand and need to extend my stay, can a hotel give me a TM 30? I see many posts saying a landlord needs to submit it, but what if I’m basically living in a hotel?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, hotels in Thailand are required to file the TM30 form for guests. When you check in, the hotel should register your stay with Thai Immigration by copying your passport information. You can request confirmation of this registration, though some hotels might only provide a letter confirming your stay rather than a TM30 receipt. If you need the TM30 for an extension, it's advisable to remind the hotel staff to register it.
You can request or remind the front desk staff to register your TM30. There are some who dont if you dont tell them that you need it. They also may give you the printed copy of the TM30 registration aside from the receipt of your payment.
Yes, and that's a lot easier than if dealing with a landlord. Landlords started using it as it became required by immi, but the system is originally aimed at hotels.
And some hotels don’t give you a screenshot or receipt of your TM.30 registration, just a written letter confirming your stay with them. I’ve just filled out a TM.30 at the immigration myself and attached the letter from the hotel.
YES, your hotel should be filing the TM 30. When you check-in, they will ask to see your passport. They will COPY the information needed to do the TM30 address registration with Thai Immigration.
You can Ask to get a screenshot of the report that they file.
But if they asked for your passport on check-in, they likely are filing the report.
