30 day extension on a 30 day visa exempt.

Hello, does anyone know if it’s required to have a TM30 when applying for a 30 day extension while in Chiang Mai. I’ve heard conflicting reports. Also can any hotel give me a TM30? I’ve had hotels tell me they couldn’t do this in the past.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query pertains to whether a TM30 is required for applying for a 30-day extension on a visa-exempt entry in Chiang Mai. Responses indicate that typically, if you are staying in hotels or guesthouses, they handle TM30 registration for you. Additionally, it’s mentioned that the new location for applying for the extension is at the Promenada Mall.

You don't need a TM 30 in Chiang Mai and that you have to go to the new promenada mall location for a 30-day extension.

Good luck.

if you have been using hotels or guesthouses during your stay, you should not worry about the TM30 registration. The hotels & guesthouses do it for you, as they are required to register their guests at Immigration under the TM30
