TLDR : Answer Summary
The status of your NON-B visa is closely tied to your work permit. If you are fired and your work permit is cancelled, your NON-B visa is likely to become invalid immediately. It's essential for you to officially cancel your work permit first on the same date as your last day of employment and then visit the immigration office to arrange the cancellation of your extension of stay. If you wish to remain in Thailand past this point, you may need to apply for a new extension or visa, which will depend on whether you meet the necessary requirements.

That stamp in your passport (not a visa but an extension) means nothing once your work permit is canceled. Find out exactly when your employment ends (ie what date will they put on the letter) or perhaps negotiate this date with HR if you're on good terms with them. That will be the day your work permit needs to be canceled as well as your visa extension. Some immigration offices will let you do this in advance (eg Bangkok) while others do not.

No, your post was going on about your employer and their tardiness, a mod sent you the following message privately "You must leave Thailand on the SAME day of cancellation of your WP and extension. You can leave and enter on visa-exempt again before your cancellation is completed. You must cancel them anyway after you enter again if you seek another visa/extension", I can see nothing but facts there, certainly not "snarky".

yea not snarky at all thanks lloyd

It would be cancelled too.

Your extension based on employment is not automatically cancelled, you have to cancel it by yourself. Your extension of stay is invalidated when your work permit is cancelled. Even if you still have your stamp on your passport, you would be overstaying.

Go to get your extension cancelled, leave Thailand and return if you want to have some more time in Thailand.

it’s means that in immigration I can choose to cancel just my work permit. And keep my Non B visa.

Both expire in the same day, may 8th 2024.

, no.

Your extension is valid by a valid work permit. Without a work permit, you cannot meet the requirement to stay on that extension based on employment legally.

Nothing will be cancelled. IT is YOU and only YOU who is responsible for the documents to work and life in Thailand.

IF you get fired from the job, get the document from your employer, visit the Ministry of Labor and cancel your Work Permit using the same date as last day of employment. Than you visit your local Immigration Office and cancel with documents from employer and ministry of labor your Extension of Stay permitted up to 8th May 2024 using the same last day of employment.

IF you need some time as you need to leave the country, you might apply for a new Extension of Stay, cost 1.900 Thb and if you can NOT meet any requirement it will be NON APPROVED and you get 7 days to pack your bags and leave Thailand.

@Robert ******
that is not correct. once the employer cancels the work permit, the non b visa becomes void immediately.

I’ve still not receive a letter of dismissal from my real employer.

I get letter of dismissal from the company I’ve been working.

That company work with a business solution (That business solution, appears in my employment contract, on my work certificate, on my pay slips and on my work permit) so the business solution is my real employer. To this day I am still employed in their company and I’m still not receive a letter from them

Just an example of an Extension of Stay got cancelled and the person gets a period of stay to leave the country, all mentioned in a new stamp.

The Work Permit is from the employee and the employee needs to cancel it, he might directly ask for legal support to get his severence payments. The Extension of Stay is placed in the passport of the employee and can NOT be cancelled by a third party.

I guess you never had an Extension of Stay otherwise you would not made this comment.

Please read and do understand the terms and conditions before you sign this form.

I am guessing that you actually have an extension of stay (from immigration) and not a visa. As such, you need to cancel both your work permit and your extension, dated the last day of your employment.
