If you have a non b visa and a work permit, is your visa good for the entire year if your job ends before the 12 month period? What I’m getting at is my job ends next month but the work permit and visa are good for another 4 months. I plan to change the Visa extension to a marriage requirements instead work during this time. I am married.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A non-B visa is typically tied to your employment, which means if your job ends, it may affect your visa and work permit status. While your work permit is valid until its expiration date or until you stop working, you must cancel it upon termination of employment. However, you can apply for a new extension of stay based on marriage to your Thai spouse, which is a separate process from the work permit. It's crucial to gather all necessary documents and visit the immigration office to ensure a smooth transition to your marriage-based extension.

Or do I totally understand wrong and you like to stop working at all and continue to stay inside Thailand relaxing with your Thai wife?

Example of that 30 day under consideration stamp
Robert *******
NO, you apply and when all documents in order, the Immigration Officer gives you a stamp Under consideration, applicant has to report himself in person at ../../.. and until that date, normally 30 days later you can stay inside Thailand.

get a letter from your employer stating the last day at your job.

Cancel the Work Permit at that date at the Ministry of Labor, could be done in advance to make life easy, could be done on the last day.

Visit the Immigration Office and cancel your Extension of Stay based on working and apply directly for a new Extension of Stay based on being married. Make sure you meet all the requirements and have all the needed copies otherwise it will be application not approved and 7 days to leave the country.

Prepare yourself is the message in this option.

I can read this two ways, but maybe because English is not my first language.

Option 1: You like to continue to work for this company but like to change your Extension of Stay into based on marriage

Option 2, You quit your job, stop working, do nothing, relax and enjoy life with your wife and like to have an Extension of Stay based on marriage?

@Robert ******
I want to get the new extension based on marriage requirements, not work.
Robert *******
But you like to do something with current Extension of Stay which has absolute nothing to do with a Work Permit.

You visit the Immigration Office, get the hand out with the requirements for an Extension of Stay based on being married with a Thai National, make sure you met all the requirements, go back and apply or this Extension of Stay.

If you look inside the Work Permit, you will find some details like:

Your ID page

The address where you work

Your job title

Your job description

Valid until date.

And until that valid until date this work permit is valid or when you stop working for the company that provided the documents to get this work permit, what ever comes first

Isn't the work permit tied to your job? Job ends you need to cancel work permit and the non b visa

yes it is, I am hoping I could do the conversion without leaving the country and getting a tourist visa and going through the process.
