Sorry guys, but I have two question that I'm not sure about.

Having money in the bank seasoning for the 60 days.

If one is trying to get a 1 yr exstension of a typo O marrige visa. This money was deposited July 29th and it will not season till Sept 26th.

Would I need to wait till the very last day of amnesty to apply? Or can I apply a few days before. My type O visa doesn't expire till Oct 18th.

Another question is, perhaps I can get a medical exception to stay. As my father is still in a hospital and will be on a medical emergency visa for up to a year. Would I be able to piggy back as a caregiver?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the timing for applying for a one-year extension of a marriage visa (type O) if their bank deposit will only be seasoned after 60 days, which affects their extension eligibility. They also seek information on obtaining a medical extension to act as a caregiver for their hospitalized father. Community members clarify that the bank funds require two full months to season and advise applying as soon as possible to avoid overstaying. They also explain that a medical visa extension is limited to 90 days and requires renewals, and suggest consulting immigration for a more tailored approach before the application deadline.

My wife spoke to immigration last week (Samui). money entered my bank on 24th July, can make visa extention (married) 25th (not 24th) September. Therefore going on the 15th to get the 60 day visit family extention.

Also, 26th is a Saturday- immigration will be closed. So perhaps get a 60 day extension first and then 1 year extension for your next visa trip

I am in a similar situation. I put the money in on July 26th and will seasoned on Sept 26. Went to Koh Samui immigration yesterday. They requested 2 sets of all the docs needed and gave me a 9am appointment on 28th. They kept one set and I need to bring bank details. She said since weekend would be ok on overstay. I would check your local office. I already did 60 day extension on July 2 so didn’t have that option.

AND as far as getting a medical extension based on being a caregiver, that's gonna be between you, the hospital, treating physician, the immigration office etc. Realize the longest extension you can get based on medical need is 90 days at a time, so you would need to go back and get a new extension every 90 days. There is no year extension or anything like that based on medical needs or based on being a caregiver.

yes your correct. Dad must apply every 3 months. But I was thinking it would buy me that extra time if needed

The seasoning of funds using banked money to get a year extension is NOT 60 days, it's TWO months (date to date) SO if you deposited the money on July 29th it will be seasoned on Sept 29th <- which would put you on overstay for a couple days

You could apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension if you haven't done so already and that'd buy you the time so you don't go on overstay, BUT I would bet the immigration office won't have a problem charging you the two day overstay fine (1000baht) and then issuing you an extension. I'd go talk to them BEFORE you go apply for the extension to see what they suggest
