When can I apply for my one-year Non-O visa extension before it expires?

Hello everyone.

I would like to ask what is the earliest I can apply for another 1 year extension?

My current 1 year extension and multi-entry permit, based upon Non-O (marriage), will expire on 15 July 2024.

I am currently overseas and will reenter Thailand on 6 April, so expect my entry stamp will be until 15 July 2024, right?

My understanding is that I can submit the application for a new 1 year extension once there is less than 45 days remaining on my entry stamp - which in this case would be 31 May (assuming my entry stamp is until 15 July)?

Secondly, this means I need to ensure the THB 400,000 is deposited into my account no later than 31 March? If so, then I need to get moving 🀣

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) inquired about the earliest date to apply for a one-year extension of their Non-O visa based on marriage, which expires on July 15, 2024. They will reenter Thailand on April 6, 2024, and expect their entry stamp to mirror the expiration of their current extension. Clarification was provided that they can submit their application 45 days before expiration, approximately around June 3, with a recommendation to apply a week later. Additionally, they must ensure the required THB 400,000 is deposited in their account by April 3 to meet the fund seasoning requirement.

In Bangkok (Chiang Mai, Phuket and a few other places) you can apply for a new yearly extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp

You said you have a re-entry permit so when you come back you'll get stamped in until the expiration date of your current extension (which you say is 15 July 2024)

That means the earliest you can apply for a new yearly extension is about Monday June 3rd (really May 31 but I'd say you're better off doing it the following week)

And

you'd need to have the funds seasoned two months (date to date) on the day you apply so they'd have to be IN the account by April 3 if you're applying on June 3

thank you for your advice - that lines up with my own understanding πŸ‘πŸ»

I previously applied in Bangkok, but this time around will be applying in Phuket due to change of residence. I assume this won’t be an issue?

Also, I know it normally takes around 3 weeks for the extension to be processed - is there anyway that this can be expedited, as I will be out of Thailand again from 17 June for about 8 weeks.

as long as you've filed a new TM30 showing you live in Phuket now you should be able to apply there no issue

You will get a one month under consideration stamp (only bangkok is 3 weeks) and then you will go back to get the year extension inked in

You need to talk to them about your time out of country, they aren't gonna expedite it even a second faster, BUT they might give you a longer under consideration stamp to make it so you can get a single re-entry permit (which would be good only for that U/C stamp validity) and then come back in to get the year extension inked in

You need to go over to the office, get all the requirements talk to them about your leaving, showing PROOF you're leaving and comin' back and see what they say
