Hello TVA family. I would like to have a quick question. I'm on a Non-O single entry based on marriage. My visa will expire on the 17th January. Unfortunately I have to go back to work and I don't want to go to Laos for the year long visa. I would like to know if I could get the 60 days extension in the nearest immigration office. I need time until the end of January.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about extending their Non-O visa for marriage, which expires on January 17. They wanted to know if it was possible to get a 60-day extension at the nearest immigration office instead of traveling to Laos for a year-long visa. Responses indicated that applying for a 60-day extension based on visiting family is possible.

Go to your local immigration over and ask. You probably will get 60 days Visit to Family.

could I ask similar question. My multi visa based on marriage ends soon. I want to stay 50 days after it expires. I can exit/enter Thailand before it expires or go local immigration for 60 day extension. Is there any advantage in either. Thanks.

I believe the OP has his options spelled out. We wish him success with your choice.

if you make a border run before the valid until date on your visa you get 90 days of stay.

If you visit Immigration Office with wife and documents you can get 60 days of stay.

Travelling and maybe a Visa on Arrival cost money, an Extension of Stay cost 1.900 Thb. The rest of calculations in for you

Do you mean your current Permission to Stay ends on 17th Jan ?
