TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on obtaining a certificate of residence from Thai immigration rather than their embassy, which charges a higher fee. Responses indicate that this certificate can be applied for at the Chaengwattana immigration office if the applicant is on a visa extension and has completed a 90-day reporting. Documentation required includes proof of residence, and the cost is approximately 200 baht. It's clarified that not all immigration offices, like Imperial World Lad Prao, can be used for this process.

You get one where you got your extension and do your 90 day reporting. You cannot get them at the Imperial World Lad Prao Soi 83 and the other location across the river at Bic C Ratburana Road because "normal foreigners" can't use those locations for 90 day reporting or extensions of stays. Those locations are for Laotianz, Burmese, Cambodianz and Malayz

If you are on an extension where you do 90 day reporting in Bangkok you go to chaengwattana and apply for it in section J, it costs 200baht and they mail it to you in about 2 weeks.

In Bangkok you only can ask for this if you do 90 day reporting and after your first report.

Thx

Than you can apply at the same office where you got your Extension of Stay and do these 90 day reports. As far as I know no additional papers needed other than registered address and your passport.
