Hi Everyone,

We arrived in Phuket few weeks back on stamped visa from India. Immigration stamped it for 60 days until October 31st. We need extension for maybe 20-30 days to explore North before heading to Vietnam for Christmas and New Year. Do we just go to the immigration office in Phuket for extension?

Stamp visa is valid for 60 days plus 30 days extension as per Thai consulate. Which means the visa is valid for 90 days.

We are on kind of world tour working and exploring.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks about extending their stamped visa obtained in India while in Phuket, seeking an additional 20-30 days to travel before departing for Vietnam. The information shared in the comments clarifies that, despite their initial understanding that a 30-day extension is available for tourist visas, this is not applicable for Indian nationals. To extend their stay, they may need to leave Thailand and re-enter on a new visa or utilize a Visa on Arrival option.

Information on internet is confusing if you only want to read stories of people who never update their website.

But you might try the website of the Royal Thai Police Immigration Bureau, I took this picture from that page.

But if you do not believe the mods or my advice, look it up yourself under point 4, good luck.

Go to the Thai Immigration office in Patong.

They will confirm what you've been told

This what I got while searching for visa extension for Indian passport holders having a stamp visa from Thai consulate in India or abroad.

, That capture has several incorrect pieces of information.

Embassies in other countries are different government entities from Immigration offices, not always correctly updated with the information for inside Thailand.

What you need to do is going to your local immigration office and talk. That is the only way you can get the right answer you can believe.

ask your question in the Phuket Expats forum... asking for a VISA Run company to take you on a border run to Penang...that company will know if you can get a NEW tourist visa from the Thai Consulate in Penang.
James ********
Your ONLY option is to try to do a border run to a neighbor SE Asia country...and before you go... ask a visa run/border run service if they can get you a New tourist visa or Visa exempt entry into Thailand.

There's passport holders from several country's like yours which cannot get a NEW tourist visa in SE Asian Thai Embassy's. Ask first before you go.

listen to what
@Ellie ******
said... she is correct.

You CANNOT get the 30 day extension of stay at the Thai immigration office.

You have a 60 days tourist visa which you bought in India. It's NOT ๐Ÿšซ possible to get a 30 day extension of stay.
Ellie *******
Unfortunately, a tourism extension for 30 days is NOT available for Indian nationals along with other 8 nationalities even if you entered on Single Entry Tourist Visa.

If you want to have more than 15 days additional, you have to leave Thailand, apply for another Tourist visa at a consulate outside Thailand, then enter Thailand again.

Or you can leave and enter Thailand again on Visa On Arrival for 15 days.

A Single Entry Tourist Visa is valid for 90 days to enter Thailand on it. That's what 90 days mean. 30 days tourism extension has nothing to do with SETV itself's validity.

This is the capture from the Immigration bureau site.
