TLDR : Answer Summary
The earliest date to apply for a visa extension depends on the expiry of your entry stamp. You can apply for an extension anytime after you have 30 days or less remaining on your entry stamp, which expires on May 27th. Therefore, you could start applying for the extension after April 28th. Alternatively, if your visa itself expires on May 4th, re-entering the country right before this date can reset your stay with a new 90-day entry stamp.

If you want to apply for an extension at the immigration office you could apply any time you had 30 days or less left on the ENTRY stamp you're here on from the visa (and seeing as that expires May 27th <- that means any time AFTER April 28th ๐Ÿ™‚

why not bounce out and back just before May 4th <- the date the VISA expires and get a NEW 90 day entry stamp? That's a year-long, multi-entry non-O visa you get unlimited 90 day entries as long as you stamp in on or by the date the visa sticker itself expires

oh ok, this seems to be easier so i can extend as soon as possible because i might be traveling out of thailand once again in June. Thanks a lot!

or just get a re-entry permit as you mentioned and get back on the 15th get stamped in until the 27th (the date you have now) and then go apply for the extension before that stamp ran out

Just a thought,
@Khun *****
IF you are going to be back within say 60 days of May 27th (the date you have on your stamp now) you could get a 60 day visit thai family extension for 1900baht, then get a single re-entry permit so you could exit and re-enter on that stamp. That visit thai family extension would give you to about July 26th so as long as you got back by then you could apply for the year extension at the immigration office

Or maybe.... can i get a re-entry permit over that date in the stamp? i mean, a re-entry permit that would allow me to enter thailand on this visa until may 27th?

Thank you, but my problem is that i need to travel to Spain for personal reasons by mid April and i cannot come back before may 4th. Therefore, it seems i cannot extend this visa because i am leaving over 45 days before the expiry date of the stamp, and cannot come back before may 4th to get another 90 days. So i will need to get a new similar visa in my country, correct?

or you could bounce out just before you leave for Spain which would get you another 60 days. You would also need a re-entry permit.
