The last time I was in Thailand, I overstayed by a couple of days (visa was for 30 days) and paid a fine at the airport. May I check how easy it is to extend to 60 days? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The asker previously overstayed their entry stamp in Thailand and is inquiring about the process to extend their stay from 30 days to 60 days. A commenter clarifies that there is no 30-day visa and indicates that the typical entry is a free stamp, which has recently been adjusted to a 45-day allowance, depending on nationality. Extensions may be available based on the individual's passport.

Hmm, you didn't have a 30 day visa 😮 (I say that because there is no such thing 😉 )

sounds like you got in for a free 30 day entry stamp and overstayed, paid your fine and left.

The free entry stamp program now is for 45 days, and depending on your nationality it can be extended for another 30 days.

What country is your passport from?

You can enter without any visa and will get stamped in for 45 days (the program runs from Oct 1st to Mar 31st) and you can also get ONE 30 day extension for 1900baht at the immigration office where you stay.

There is no issue at all getting a 30 day extension at the immigration office on a new entry stamp

it is illegal to do any sort of work on a tourist entry including volunteer work. That's what the volunteer visa is for.

make sure you get the correct visa for “volunteer work.”
