What should I do about a two-day overstay on my Thai visa?

I miss calculated when I got a 90 day visa. I had a flight that left Canada on October 15 and goes back on January 15 so now I guess I will have two days over stay. What is my best solution. Of course the 90 day visa is really a 60 day visa with a 30 day attachment where I have to go in after 60 days and get the extension. Now can I talk to them then about the two day over stay and get it all cleared up at that meeting?

Thank you for any assistance you can offer cherrs all the best

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a 90-day visa but will overstay by two days due to their flight schedule. They question whether they can address this overstay at the time of applying for a 30-day extension. Responses suggest extensions are possible to avoid penalties, but a short overstay could result in fines and complications. The most prudent option shared by the community includes applying for an extension before the current visa expires or considering a 'border run' to re-enter the country.

Awesome thanks

its the same process as when you extend for 30 days. You submit another application and then pay 1,900 Baht and they will see that you already have an extension, and deny you 30 days but then give you 7 more days.

And supplemental question as a Canadian am I permitted on Jan. 13 to apply for another 30 stay without a visa

American friends hear 30 day visa exempt. Don't realize arrival day is day one, 31 day months, and set themselves up for a short overstay, very common.

Yes not to be melodramatic but it is on your "permanent record". You get a stamp in your passport. Other countries you visit or request visas from might not like that too. Only in the worst case if in the days you are on overstay if you get stopped by police you are going to have major problems.

You mean even for the two days

You could do a border run and get a 30 day visa exempt, or get a roundtrip ticket to somewhere close like SIN or KUL and spend a weekend there before going back to BKK and flying back. All of that will cost more than 1900 baht, or changing you original ticket. Don't overstay, always a bad idea.

no, you'd have to leave the country and come back in to get a 30 day visa exempt entry

Or the two day on Jan 13

You can go back to Immigration and pay 1,900 Baht and they will give you an additional 7 more days. I would do this than risk overstaying and getting that marked on your record

In theory no, but overstays in any country are not good or recommended

There is not any problem for a short overstay, no worries and pay the fine.

Ok thanks sorry if I didn’t understand at first

@James ********
You can only apply for the 30 days extension once per Visa. Since you would have already extended until January you have to leave by that date (which you said you cant because your flight is 2 days later) so you need to apply for the additional 7 days after the 30 day extension, which will cost you 1,900 Baht
Steve *******
It should be added onto your existing extention. Just to be safe go when you have less than 7 days left.

It’s as clear as mud what you are trying to explain but that’s my fault

And obviously I can’t do math very well

I’m going in as soon as I can
Steve *******
Do it before your existing extention expires. You only get 7 days. You can do the math. Good luck
James *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
And I do that on dec 14 or before?
Steve *******
James. So you already have the 30 day extention and it's still short by 2 days? Then as Lopez says apply for another extention and get the 'extention denied' stamp that will give you another 7 days. Cost 1900bt

Stupid auto correct

30 day not 3

No I was going to be going for the three day extension in any case but that still leaves me with two days overstay. Question is can I take care of those two days over Thursday when I go for my 30 day or do I have to do that after the 90 days
Steve *******
You can get a 30 day extention for 1900bt or pay 500bt per day for the overstay. Go for the extention of stay to save any future issues
