Hi, I want to change my extension of stay from working (teacher non-b) to marriage. I will still be employed by the same school and they will supply the required documents.

Is this possible or will I need to get the initial 3 month visa stamp. Also how will this affect the 400k banked money?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to change their extension of stay from a working (teacher NON-B) visa to a marriage visa while continuing to be employed. It's clarified that this is a change of reason for the existing extension and not a new visa application. They can use their employment contract as proof of finances if earning 40K THB or more monthly, or they can opt for the 400K THB bank requirement if not.

You are not getting a new visa, but instead changing the reason for the extension of stay.

If you are making 40K THB or more a month, you can use your employment contract as proof of finances.

If you are not making 40K THB or more a month, you can use the 400K THB banked money method that has been seasoned for two calendar months.

Thanks Ben. So if I used the 40k per month method I would just need to show my contract or would they also need to see bank statements etc

You may need to provide some more documents than just a contract if you want to use the monthly income method. This is a copy from the 'general' requirements documents part of "Visa Extension - In the case of being a family member of a Thai national" of the Immigration official site. Bette to check with your local immigration office for detail before you decide how to meet the financial requirements.

Just show the employment contract 🙂

Sorry just one more question, my non b extension of stay doesn’t expire until July, but I would like to change over to the marriage extension sooner, is this possible?

It is technically possible to cancel the current one based on employment and immediately apply for a new 1-year extension based on marriage. But you may or may not have to provide a clear reason to cancel the current extension based on employment when remaining and you still keep working with them on the same conditions. be ready for that.
