Good morning, I applied for non-O visa in Ayutthaya and got my initial 90 days 28 February, supposed to return middle of May to receive one year stamp. I now have an urgent need to move to another province. Is it possible to complete this elsewhere? Or do I need to return to Ayutthaya? Sorry if this is inartfully stated, I do not know the rules or procedure well.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking guidance on whether they need to return to Ayutthaya to receive their one-year extension stamp for their Non-O visa or if they can complete the process in another province after moving. Community responses suggest that the applicant should contact the immigration office in their new province and may need to report their new address using TM30. Additionally, some members share personal experiences and emphasize the importance of asking both immigration offices for clarification.

Do you have an "under consideration" stamp? OR are you still on your "zero entry" Non-O Visa that you acquired in Ayutthaya?

IF you have an "under consideration" stamp, you *WILL* have to return to Ayutthaya (I don't believe the one year extension of stay based on retirement has an under consideration stamp though). If you are still on your "zero entry Non-O stamp", you *SHOULD* be able to get the one year extension of stay.

ALMOST all immigration offices have either a website, or a Facebook page. Contact them for more information 🙂

Can you change from OA visa to non O in Thailand and whats needed Thanks

no. You’d have to leave Thailand and re enter on a non o or tourist visa and apply in country for a non o.

Good advice all, thank you much. I am aware of timing issue, just did not know if I needed to come back to Ayutthaya or not. I will contact and ask new province office I have plenty of time, and I will have new address to report by 1 April. Not afraid to pay for “extra” services. Ayutthaya office very kind and helpful, don’t know about Phuket

"The Non-O visa application has to be done in the same office as where the 1 year extension application will be submitted"

So don't think phuket immigration will do for you, but you lose nothing by asking them. Your original immigration office would do so, but can see how that.may not be convenient for you

yes I had a feeling that is the case, and I don’t mind flying back and coming to Ayutthaya to complete the process. But I would have to advise them I have a new address?

I would think you would need to stay at a hotel to have them file a TM-30 for you (and give you a screenshot as evidence). I think if you explain what you are doing that will be sufficient.

It used to be and maybe still is a requirement that you do the extenstion where you reside (according to TM30).

Having said that, I did mine last year for a reasonable 'fee' at another office because the one in my area has very rude unhelpful people working there and I refuse to grease their palms because their attitude is so poor.

The point being, you probably can do it elsewhere even if you're "not supposed" to.

The advice already given to ask one or both offices (expect inconsistencies) is the best thing you can do.

We all have our own experiences, but in the end it's the immigration officers that must decide and give you the extension.

I think you are free to move, however, you should contact Immigration in Ayutthaya again once it due to collect 1 year visa. Then, report T.M. 30 properly at new address.

You need to apply for extension with 2-3 weeks left on your Non O visa .

Have you submitted the application for the 1 year extension yet?

I would think that if you register your address TM30 IN your new province you'll be ok
