Hey guys! I'd like to know, how do we transfer the non-B visa from one school to another? I'm moving from Chonburi to Ayutthaya and hoping my non-B can be transferred to my new school in Ayutthaya so I won't go out of Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer a Non-B visa from one school to another in Thailand, you need to first understand whether you're on the actual visa or an extension of stay. If you're on an extension of stay, it's possible to cancel this extension at your current immigration office followed by applying for a new extension at your new immigration office after you've secured employment with the new school. Both schools need to provide the necessary documentation for this process. This typically involves getting a letter from your current employer confirming your end date and ensuring your new employer can assist with the required paperwork for the new visa application.

Which is a good thing (y)

That means you could follow what LLoyd recommended, get documentation from your current employer stating you stop working on xxx date, go to your immigration office in Chonburi a week or so before that date, cancel the extension you're on (they'll stamp you until the termination date.

THEN

you would high tail it to your new immigration office in Ayutthaya with documentation from your new employer and immediately apply for a new "extension of stay".

It most definitely CAN be done, but it takes both employers to work with you to get the documentation you need to cancel the current extension you're on now at the immigration office in Chonburi and then to apply for a new extension with the documents from the new employer at the immigration office in Ayutthaya

Yeah i am on extension of stay. Thanks for clarifying. So once Chonburi Immigration cancels my extension, I have to go to Ayutthaya immigration to get a new extension on the SAME day?

If however you are on an extension of stay and you get your ducks in a row, you could cancel your extension ahead of time, and then hopefully your new school would have all your paperwork ready to apply for a new extension (on the day your old extension expires) at your new office, (and of course work permit).

First off are you still on the actual VISA or an extension of stay?

Actual visa I think. What is extension of stay? I usually extend my non-B visa when the school extends my contract but it is an actual nonB Visa.

No, your visa long expired, you are now on an extension of stay. Similar to the photo below.

how about you actually LOOK at the stamp IN your passport "Teacher Dan" ? 😉 I would bet dollars to durian you're on a stamp that says "extension of stay permitted until" and has a date that you can stay until

the initial visa is 90 days. The extension is for one year and is not a visa, it's an extension. It makes a huge difference which one you are on.
