I am on yearly Non-O Thai Child extensions for the last 8 years. I am also working and have a WP.

My renewal is due next year March.

I'd like to know if I can change my next extension based on marriage without having to leave the country and get a new Visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has been on a yearly Non-O Thai Child extension for 8 years and is inquiring whether they can change their extension to a marriage-based visa without leaving Thailand during their next renewal in March. According to the comments, it is generally possible to apply for a 1-year extension under a different reason, such as marriage, but it's advisable to verify specific requirements with the local immigration office and consult the employer ahead of time.

As a rule, you can apply for a 1-year extension for that reason (changing the reason for an extension) when you apply for the next one. But you better check with the local immigration office for detailed requirements to change, also talk with your employer well in advance.

Ok. So technically it's possible to change the reason for extension? In my case based on child to based on marriage.

, And a bit of unnecessary-for-now extra information.

In case you can apply for the new 1-year extension for a different reason (in your case, raising a Thai child to marriage to a Thai), your new 1-year extension most likely starts on the day of application, not being added. Be careful with the application timing change.

Yes, basically, it's possible. Still, details depend on your local immigration office.
