Hi! I'm on a Non-b visa (acquired locally) and planning to move to a new school in another province. Is it possible to apply for another Non-B locally?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual holds a Non-B visa acquired locally and is inquiring if they can apply for another Non-B visa after moving to a new school in another province. Responses suggest that the current status may not be a Non-B visa but rather a yearly extension based on employment. It is advised to consult the immigration office with the new employer's documents to explore options for canceling the current extension and applying for a new one or using a stay stamp as part of the process.

I'm doing that. Got a stay stamp until 26, with that I got my teaching licence and after the holiday I'll go get the work permit, then extend the non - b. Another way can be found here

BUT did you notice that the O/P's NOT on a Non-B visa but on a yearly extension and they haven't gone on amnesty yet like you did :O I gave them the steps that might work in my edited post

"I'd say go to your immigration office with your new employer and see what they say."

is probably the best advice to follow

Agree completely. Nong Khai immigration said they will not do the NON-B stamp the way Richard Barrows did, but they give me a letter to submit back to them (they are very nice) and they stamped a hard "allowed to stay until 26 of September" which allowed to finally get my new teaching license and now can get my work permit. Then a new extension for the period of my contract.

If you have any questions about my case, let me know.

, and while it MIGHT be technically possible (Richard Barrows post was only about Samut Prakan) I wouldn't be thinking that every office is jumping on that band wagon and letting people do it. AND as I said your situation (where you had a visa that expired almost SIX months ago and have been on amnesty the whole time is totally different from a person who has a year extension and is changing employers.

It might and might not work for them, just as it might or might not work for you.

Just curious; Did you already go to the immigration office and get off the no stamp amnesty to a hard stamp extension that lets you stay until the 26th?

You're NOT on any Non-B VISA, but on a yearly extension based on employment.

You might be able to just cancel this extension and then immediately apply for a new extension with your new employer using their documentation

I'd say go to your immigration office with your new employer and see what they say.

Otherwise you'd have to cancel this extension, go on to the amnesty, get a hard stamp showing you can stay until the 26th of Sept and then apply for the new in country Non-B visa

gotcha. I'll go to the immigration office and ask them. The rules here in Sukhothai immigration are quite different.
