Hello, I need a bit of help after my visit to immigration today. I met very unhelpful officers.
I went there to counter N (teacher) with documentation from my school saying I quit my job the 15th February.
Then, I went to counter L to change extension to an extension based on marriage (previously based on work).
They said that I need to give back my work permit first and come back later.
So I have 3 questions :
- I have to go give my work permit (to ministry of labor I think) and then come back to apply at chaengwattana, that is all ?
- Do I have to apply for new extension the day I give back my work permit, or can I wait few days ?
- I believe you need a certain amount of days left to apply. Do I need to apply for the extension before a certain date (31/01/2022 ?)
TLDR : Answer Summary
After quitting your teaching job, you need to return your work permit to the Ministry of Labor and provide documentation confirming your employment termination date (15th February) before applying for a marriage-based visa extension. You can choose to apply for the extension on the same day you return the work permit or wait a few days. It’s important to apply for the extension before the last valid date, which is suggested to be 15th February.
