Hi everyone, I need some help.. About switching my extension based of employment to extension based on marriage. (I’m married to a Thai Nationality) due to my workplace still remain close, and I wish to keep my work permit just in case they’re reopening soon.🤞🏼 I just went back from Samui Immigration this morning. They informed me that I can change the reason to extension based on marriage but I have to quit my job. Is this a must? Or it’s depending on the officer?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) inquired about switching their visa extension from one based on employment to one based on marriage to a Thai national. They expressed concern about having to quit their job according to the information received at Samui Immigration. Comments from the community provided mixed advice, with some suggesting it may not be necessary to quit the job to change the extension, while others recommended waiting until the current extension is close to expiry to apply for a new extension based on marriage.
