I'm about to go to immigration in Korat regarding the 12 month extension. The 800,000 baht has been in account for the required 2 months. Question does the bank statement have to be done on same day as going to immigration or can it be dated the day before. I'm in Pak Chong. Hour and 15 minute drive to Korat.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The bank statement for applying for a 12-month extension in Thailand generally needs to be current, with many immigration offices requiring it to be dated the same day as the appointment. While some users reported that statements and letters can be accepted if dated up to 7 days prior, most suggest that for a smooth process, it’s best to have a statement from the same day. Additionally, an updated bank book showing a small transaction, such as a withdrawal, is also commonly required alongside the bank statement.

All the same day for Korat immigration. Go at 8.30 to the bank. Make for Korat an immigration-appointment at 11.30.

It has to be from the same day and you need to withdraw just 100thb from your account from any ATM hours before and show them your book

I've just got my first year extension. It took 5 attempts they wanted the certificate unbank statements updating on the day

Also, the four hundred thousand because it's a marriage visa type i had to get permission to have it unfrozen. To get the certificate to then resigned to have it frozen. And yet they reset it back for another four months to be frozen

Luckily for me, my plan was to have left it in there. So each year there will always be the money in the Account just not touched but I know some people are putting it in using it and putting it back in a later date risky with the way situations are today. You may not have the funds to replace it.Which then misses up your visa

If you have Bangkok bank they require 10 days advance to get one year. Then you need to get another statement for the missing days up to your immigration date from Bangkok bank. I usually get it day before and go in morning to immigration next day.

I’m convinced that immigration want people to use an agent, because of the way different officers want different stuff on different days

Alan Bow probably because they get a cut. Surely you people know how Thailand works. How do you think an agent gets round the documents?

Alan Bow I don't know about the newbees, but certainly the higher ups, i would guess there is a ladder to climb.

I don't know why people here are always clutching their pearls and claiming to be getting ripped off, when black money is parts of the Thai life.

After having spent several hours at the Chon Buri immigration office Friday and today, all I can truthfully say is it depends.

I got handed a sheet of requirements to extend my retirement visa Thursday, went home and put all of it together that day and night, went in Friday and the requirements from the immigration officer were additional from the list provided. For example, not just the front of the deed of the condo I’m renting, but the back page which is just Thai writing in my rental packet.

Today they additionally wanted copies of my Thai driver’s license and a copy of my landlord’s bio data from his French passport.

The only thing for sure is nothing is the same, day to day, or from agent to agent.

Bill Hillerby it’s never been 12 months. Especially second year of “seasoning” funds. 🤷‍♂️

I did mine last week. I went into Bangkok Bank and asked for a one year statement. I know they have to order it in advance and it was ready last Tuesday. I went in picked it up and had them do the certification letter , charge was ฿100 for the letter and ฿200 for the statement. They are good for the extension for 7 days. On the day you apply, you must do a small transaction. I tranfered a deposit of ฿100. Get a copy made. Updated copy of TM 30, Google map with coordinates of your house, photo of you in front of your house number, application with a passport size photo, all Thailand stamps from immigration in you passport, copy of ID page. Everything signed and filled out in blue ink. Although just reading it now the bank statements and bank book requirements are only for a few months it seems. They took my one year statement.

Your form states transfer from 90 day to 1 year extension so don’t require one year of bank statements

Ian Carman yes, I noticed that and pointed it out in my comment. I had done it in the past so I did it anyway and they took it. I made my appointment online and they were ready for my when I came in. I was done in about 15 minutes and they said to come back the next day between 4 and 5 PM to pick up my passport. I came back the day after and was only there a few minutes then walked over to the other building to get a re-entry permit. I'm going to have to ask next year about only needing to get a bank letter and the branch can print out a six month statement instead of ordering the one year statement from the headquarters.

It should be one year of statements because they need to check you kept to the bank balance rules

Ian Carman that's what I thought. This paper is for the first extension after just getting a non O two months before, so not quite as much paperwork as the usual one year extension.

If you have had a retierment visa before it has to be 3 months minimum and you have to draw 1k and put it back into your account the same day that you apply for your visa

Normally the statements and the bank guarantee letter can be up to 7 days old but your bank book needs to be updated to show a transaction on the day

Daniel Or Dany Francoeur You only get 90 days to open bank account and seed the 800,000 in account. This would mean leaving country for 4 months.

Ray Mond no way, you can get the 2-months bank letter from Kasikorn (and from everyThai bank) even on a brand new account, in order to apply for a first 1-year extension of stay. Greg Low . . . . Most Immigrations ask the bank letter tobe from the same day, but there are many other Immigrations that will accept bank letters 1 or 2 days old. You need to ask your Immigration how they handle it

I'm with Kasikorn. Don't understand why the 6 months. How are you supposed to open bank account and have money sit there. They only give 90 days with E Visa to obtain retirement extension for 1 year.

You need to ask your Immigration how they handle it. Also do not forget they will ask to see an updated on the same day bankbook, and the ATM slip from a small withdrawal, also from the same day (the ATM withdrawal should be done before you update the bankbook, I do mine after the update and my Immigration is fine with that)
