TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for proof of funds for spouses of DTV visa holders can vary by consulate. Some consulates require that every accompanying family member, including children, show proof of funds, while others only require it from the primary visa holder. It's advised to check with the specific consulate for their policies. For example, financial evidence of at least 500,000 THB is generally required for the DTV series. It is also suggested that having a separate bank account for the spouse might be beneficial, but a joint account could potentially suffice if funds are adequate.

Thai embassy in the Netherlands made separate pages for the 3 different DTV options.

All 3 options have the financial requirement of 500k THB / €

which seems logical to me. I see no reason at all why the third option should not require funds.

I think most easy is when she has own account, but maybe a common account with double the money also might work.

I read somewhere some embassies now also want proof that the funds are not there just for the moment of apply for visa

whether trailing spouse or children (under 20) need to show proof of funds as well when getting a "piggy back" DTV is set by the consulate. SOME consulates ARE requiring EVERY DTV holder to show proof of funds (even little kids 😮 ) but some are only requiring the primary holder to show it

contact the consulate you're applying at and ask them what their policy is
