TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirements for proving financial stability for a Spouse DTV Visa in Thailand can vary by consulate. Generally, the primary applicant must show proof of 500,000 Baht, while dependents historically may not need to provide additional proof. However, some consulates may request proof of funds for each dependent. It is vital to contact the specific embassy or consulate for accurate guidelines, as requirements could change and may differ significantly between locations.

When the dependent turns 20 will they then loose the visa validity?

Wow, so strange to me they would require for spouse too. Couldn't you just then transfer the same monies to your spouse's account, especially since you apply after the visa is approved? Maybe I'm missing something here.

afaik there's no seasoning requirement, at least there's not one defined centrally. So then you could indeed do that.

But as usual, embassies could still require some level of seasoning or perhaps a snippet containing the total required amount at once in case of a dependent's application. It would make sense.

they can't requiere anything different. Conditions of visas are clear and there is no extra money for depends

Welcome to the beaurocracy of thailand where laws and rules are determined by someone wearing a military uniform rather than the rest of most of the world where law is concrete and all abide ,including those employed by the rule makers... Here they use words like may and can instead of must when it comes to laws.

The consulate in Vancouver Canada asks for proof of funds for dependents….I guess some do - some don’t. You could go through the application and see if the one you are applying through does.

so the applications are all similar.

In the case of asking for finances for dependant I would recommend uploading the primary person's bank statement or you could try creating a photo that says not applicable.

This works with non-o visas when they are asking for things that don't apply.

OR contact the embassy directly on how they want to see it.

OFFICIALLY And verified it is 500k per family.

However the evisa sites etc are not up to speed.

Is the 500k in account of main person? So you just show the bank account 2 times?

we just did ours, also Vancouver consulate and dependant DTV. Had to show my bank statement in my name. Edit: if joint account there has to be enough to cover all applicants.

as this is brand new for all.

Did you apply at the same time ?

or has the primary already obtained the visa?

In some visas the primary obtains theirs first, then the dependants apply with the appropriate documentation, proof of relationship, visa etc.

If you all applied at once I wonder if that may be why.

No Thai dependant visas require funds, as per BKK this is the same.

I asked this exact question and was answered 500k per family NOT per applicant.

I hope that they are able to sort it out, for many that would be a deterrent.

Just to note, this was asked during an official immigration information program.

yes, it's very new and rules are being made up and changed as people adapt and it seems like embassies are tightening up already.

In the case of the DTV, the primary has to apply and have the visa approved before the dependant can apply. As a dependant you require proof of primary DVT, proof or relationship and proof of funds. Again, Vancouver consulate so it could very well be different elsewhere.

I know when we did Non O's every embassy had a slightly different requirement but don't recall it being so varied! I'll take it though, my husband DTV was approved in 2 hours and mine only took 36.

I would have guessed that it’s expensive

I would not feel comfortable moving far away, even if I had monthly income if I didn’t have more than 500,000 baht. With a family I would be stressed unless I had 5M or other assets that could be liquidated

I have heard reports that 500k are required per person, yes. And would make sense. But requirements may vary drastically from consulate to consulate.

That's how the requirements have been stated. But embassies decide, and they can go different ways if they see fit. Best to inquire there.
