TLDR : Answer Summary
To sponsor someone on a DTV visa in Thailand, the necessary documents typically include a bank account statement showing the required funds and a letter confirming the sponsor's willingness to sponsor. However, specific requirements may vary by consulate, and it's advisable to check with the relevant Thai consulate for the most accurate information.

The answer is likely consulate specific. The Hong Kong consulate so far seems to be limiting the sponsor to only a spouse or other immediate family member.

Nobody knows - except (maybe) the Thai consulate in your jurisdiction. I am not aware of any shared experience on this so far. Will likely also vary from consulate to consulate as all things do in Thailand.
