TLDR : Answer Summary
The bank balance requirement for the new DTV visa, also known as the nomad visa, is still uncertain. Comments suggest that one applicant (e.g., the primary visa holder) may need 500,000 THB, while the other spouse could potentially apply as a dependent without needing to prove a separate bank balance. However, since the DTV visa is new, many details remain unclear, and it is recommended to consult the local Thai embassy for official guidance.

No one knows the answer to this question. You have to wait until someone knows for sure.

You need 500k THB per person. Dependents also need it, unlike with other visas. Reason is that dependents technically get the same visa instead of another.

also in funding proof you can see sponsorship letter, from main DTV holder. So it can be same amount.

dependents can only apply by giving the DTV visa number of the family member who was approved. Per some consulate sites I've read, the dependent can use the proof of funds of a family member by submitting documents proving the relationship between them.

as it is currently stated, being a dependent of another DTV visa holder is one of the options in the list of working remote, doing a cooking class, etc. The 500k is a separate requirement that applies to each of the aforementioned categories.

So why have a category for dependents if they have to get the same Visa with the same financial requirements?

Not necessarily. An entry stamp will pull it up if it's on the back of a DTV. But we'll see. It's not relevant to me. I'm just going for the DTV to replace the clunky non-O with all its pedantic requirements.

everyone needs their own visa. Same with LTR. Same with workers that want to bring their spouse and kids. You just don't have to qualify with the requirements because your qualification is someone that already has one. It clearly shows this in the document you posted.

I don't think a spouse will need their own DTV (possibly won't qualify). I think the carrot on the stick for the DTV is to make life easier for married couples. The Info provided by MFA states only marriage certificate

So you're saying saying that spouses must also meet the criteria for a DTV? What's the point of a spouse "add on" in that case? And where does it say that in the infographic? 😂

it clearly says spouse and children of a DTV visa holder are ELIGIBLE TO APPLY for a DTV. It does not mean they just get to travel freely

Not according to the MFA! But as always, I guess Facebook overrules anything official! 😆

not on the same visa. They still have to apply for their own DTV as a follower of the original visa. But no one has done it yet to verify if funds were required or not.

If it's like other visas, then one of you needs 500,000 and to receive their visa. Then the other can apply as a dependant based on the first visa and shouldn't need to provide a bank balance. But the visa is so new no one knows if that's how the DTV works. You need to ask your Thai embassy if you want an answer
