I went to the search bar before asking this question and I understand the requirements for the DTV visa as it relates to a single self-employed person. However, I've not come across any posts as it relates to children. Has anyone had any experience with it as of yet? In regards to financial proof requirements, custody, etc.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the financial proof requirements for children when applying for a DTV visa in Thailand. It emphasizes that different embassies may have varying requirements including proof of custody and necessary financial evidence. Generally, the financial requirement is 500,000 THB for each dependent, meaning a single parent with two children would need a total of 1.5 million THB. It's suggested that applicants check with their specific embassy for precise requirements.

The current requirement is that for each dependant you need bt500,000, the same as you need, meaning if you are a single parent with two kids you'd need bt1.5million in the bank, bt500,000 for yourself, and bt500,000 for each child. This is universal at all embassies concerning the DTV visa. Some requirements can vary from embassy to embassy, but not the financial requirement

all the requirements were already met from your DTV "the person getting the original DTV". dependent visa is pretty much what it says. however as each embassy makes up their own rules/requirements, nobody but whatever embassy you are going to apply to could possibly give you the exact answer. I've not seen anywhere a difference for "single person" vs, "married", so not sure where you got that from.

It's whatever the embassy you apply through requires. If they require proof of custody, then you need proof of custody. If they require proof of funds, then you need proof of funds. You have to check with the embassy you will be applying through as they all set their own requirements. I know for a fact you've seen that answer many, many times, if you looked at other DTV posts. And it applies to you too, just like it applies to everyone else.

yes I have and as I stated , I understand the terms as a single person. I was looking to hear feedback on the process for those with children who have already gone through the process. I appreciate your input

The process is EXACTLY the same. Except the "proof" is the DTV of the guardian. The other required items are going to be on a per-embassy basis. Some require proof of funds, some do not. Everything else will be dependent completely upon the embassy because each embassy sets their own requirements.
