Do you have to show $14k in finances per person applied for or per family? I’m currently looking to get the DTV for myself and get DTV dependent visas for my son and wife, but I don’t currently have $42k to show. Confused on this rule.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The financial requirement for the Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) can vary by consulate. Some consulates require each family member, including dependents, to demonstrate proof of $14k, while others allow the primary visa holder to provide documentation sufficient for the entire family, as long as it is clear they will financially support their dependents. Experiences shared by users indicate a mixture of interpretations of this rule, so it is essential to check with the specific consulate where you plan to apply.

In our case, it's 14k each for my husband and myself but not our son as he is below 18. Applied in Mexico.

Read the posts about Taipei from others who have obtained the DTV in Taipei. On this forum and on Thai Visa Advice forum.

We were granted dependent visas for our two children from the London embassy and used the exact same bank statement that we had already submitted for my husband’s DTV (same bank account for all three visa applications). We included a letter stating he would sponsor their costs while in Thailand. Visas were issued within 24 hours.

Oh and the account balance was only just over the £11,000 minimum.

We applied at LA and only had to show that amount per the primary visa holder, not an additional amount for each dependent

Whether you show proof of funds for Spouse/Children DTV's is a consulate specific thing.

SOME reports were that EVERYONE getting the DTV had to show their own funds (or a bank account for the family that covered each persons requirement)

BUT

At some consulates only the primary DTV holder had to show the proof of funds and the trailing spouse / children just had to pay the cost of the DTV

. Could you please tell us which consulates only asked for the primary Todd. This makes a massive difference to us as a family. And info would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I believe Washington DC only asks for the primary. I could be wrong though.
