Do I need to do a 90-day report while on Amnesty with a visa extension in Thailand?

Hi, my WP and the visa were canceled in May and I’m on Amnesty now. I have just got a letter from my embassy for visa extension. So my questions are:

1) do I (still) need to do the 90 days report by the end of this month please? Or I just do my visa extension directly?

2) if I still need to do the 90 day report, which immigration office I have to go now, as I remember seeing a post mentioning that a temp office was set up for this purpose?

Many thanks in advance as always.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is on Amnesty status and has received a letter from their embassy for a visa extension. They inquire whether they still need to do the 90-day report before the end of the month and which immigration office to visit for this purpose. A comment indicates that if the embassy's extension is approved, then the 90-day report may not be necessary. Another commenter asks about the specifics of how the visa extension works.

may i ask how that extension works for you? are you being put on a certain type of visa with the help of that letter?
Benjamin ******
How that extension will work is that IF immigration approves the letter, she will get another 30 days added to the amnesty, and can stay no longer then October 25, 2020 (If my calculations are correct).

BUT... I have not seen anyone get that extension yet, and is something that shouldn't be assumed that can be issued.

ah my bad just realized you haven't been to immigration yet.

If you have received a letter from the embassy requesting that you stay for an additional month, AND it is approved by the immigration office, you do not need to file a 90 day report.

For the office you will use to submit this letter, you will use your local immigration office, unless you're in Bangkok. Are you in Bangkok?

Hi, Benjamin, thanks a lot for the heads up, much appreciated. So if I’m in BKK, which immigration office shall I go for this matter? And is it true that the extension will start counting from
****
, even if I go do it now? Thanks

HOWEVER, Since you entered on some type of non-immigrant visa, you may not be able to get a 30 day extension based off the embassy letter. *IN THEORY* there is no time wasted if you are apply early, but they may reject the letter and tell you to go back later.

What's your nationality by the way?

Just to make sure, they did issue that letter to you in the last few days, right? I know the immigration offices aren't accepting any of the "old" letters that was being issued back in April.

@Vivian ******
That's a good question. I believe you would use MTT, since you entered on a 90 day visa
